Goodnight Consulting was hired to develop an initial human resources and communications shut down strategy for a US nuclear client. The project was developed discreetly due to the sensitivity of the topic. Our team included experts in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Human Resources and Communications.
We provided a detailed staffing, organizational, and communications plan for the client that they could implement once they had made the decision to shutter the plant. The utility decided to keep the plant operational longer than originally anticipated. However, the utility revisited the decision and ultimately decided to close the plant. At that point Goodnight Consulting was called back to assist in the implementation of the plans we had developed.
This implementation included providing subject matter expertise to the decommissioning oversight committee for a period of slightly less than a year.
